About the Tel Aviv Collection:
The Tel Aviv Collection, a "branch" of the Eurovision Collectors Guide, collects info on all official releases (physical and digital), promo info (as much as possible) and the odd coverversion, chart position and important trivia.

Digital release info may not apply to all territories, you'll have to do some investigating by yourself there.
All digital release images (DRI's) are taken from the likes of iTunes and/or Amazon or sources noted otherwise.
Digital release also includes streaming (like Spotify), but not all releases can be found there.

Please note only links to official / legal downloads are used in the Lisbon Collection.
If there's any content here that belongs to you and you don't want it here, let us know and we'll remove it.

We also have a Facebook page. Here you'll find the occasional bit of release news and even some opinion of yours truly. A visit would be much appreciated or even a Like (if it’s not too much trouble…).
If you have anything to add or correct, please leave a comment with as much details (links!) as possible.
To prevent spam comments are moderated, so it may take some time before your comment shows up.
Anonymous comments won't be posted or replied to but the information will be used without crediting.

Due to working hours I won’t always be able to publish the latest news first, but the Tel Aviv collection will be your Collectors Guide to the 2019 contest and it will be here to stay for future reference.

The Eurovision Collectors Guide 1956 - 2018 is out now!

Netherlands - Duncan Laurence - Arcade

CONGRATULATIONS DUNCAN LAURENCE
As a Dutchie myself I'm over the moon with our victory. After 44 years with Ding A Dong as your most recent trophy it always seemed impossible to get a victory in our beloved game.
But Dare To Dream seemed very appropriate. Austria did it against all odds, Portugal after 50 years and now the Netherlands did it. Just saying: never give up, everything is possible. Thanks Duncan Laurence for an unforgettable moment.

1 - 498 pts / 1 - 280 pts in semi 2
Duncan Laurence represented the Netherlands in Tel Aviv. The song Arcade was revealed on March 7.
Arcade is written by Duncan de Moor (= Duncan Laurence), Joel Sjöö and Wouter Hardy.
The video is here and the single is out now through the usual digital sources.
A vinyl single was released on July 26. More details below.

An early demo has already been available on Youtube

Vinyl !
A limited edition vinyl single was first sold at Duncan's Paradiso concert merchandise stand and it got a proper release on July 26.
It includes the Eurovision version and an acoustic version. (Universal 0 602577 952289).
It's a heavy vinyl edition in a glossy sleeve with a (black) inner sleeve for protection.
The vinyl is (still) available in the Dutch shops, online at several international retailers.
It has also been spotted in the racks of El Cortes Ingles in Spain.
The b-side acoustic version was released as a digital track on July 19.

Digital release image
Arcade is the 3rd vinyl 7”inch single this year but it’s been a while since a Eurovision winner had a 7” inch release. The last one was in 1994: Rock 'n' roll kids by Paul Harrington and Charlie McGettigan which won for Ireland. 1994 was also the last year that saw three vinyl singles (Ireland, U.K. and Finland)
2019 also saw a fourth vinyl single although released in 2020.

Arcade won the Eurovision Song Contest but didn't win any of the  seperate results (Jury or Televote).
It also won the 2nd semifinal.
Only two countries made in to the top five in both the Tele & Jury votes. One won and one came second (Italy), seems right to me.

More Vinyl
On July 24 2020 a 10"inch vinyl was released. It's titled Worlds On Fire and includes five songs.
1 Beautiful
2 Yet
3 Arcade
4 Someone Else
5 Love Don't Hate It
The version of Arcade is the one we know. (Universal  0602507258597)

And even more
Duncan's debut LP Small Town Boy is released on November 13. It has Arcade in the regular version. The album is out on CD, LP, Limited transparent vinyl LP, Cassette (!) and digital.
If that's not enough you also buy a Duncan Laurence App which gives you access to all kinds of everything (but not the album).

Deluxe edition 2021
A new edition of Small Town Boy was released on May 21, 2021. (Universal / Spark 381 7754)
It includes Arcade, the Fletcher version and the Sam Feldt remix. Also has Stars from the Eurovision 2021 final show.
The US CD release is out on June 25. (Capitol 602438177547)

Duet version and remix
A Duet version with Fletcher was released on November 27 2020. It's released as a digital single and also included on the Spotify version of Small Town Boy.
On April 23 2021 the Sam Feldt remix of Arcade is released. It's the first officially released remix.
Both are also on the 2021 Deluxe version of the Small Town Boy CD.

Black Friday 2021
On Novermber 26 2021 a limited edition 10 inch vinyl with four versions of Arcade was released under the Record Store Day flag.
A1 Arcade
A2 Arcade (Acoustic)
B1 Arcade with Fletcher
B2 Arcade Sam Feldt remix
Thanks Marion!
(Universal / Spark 382297-5)

The Hollywood Session version 2023
Skyboy - The Hollywood Session is a digital album released in November 2023.
It includes mostly tracks from his Skyboy album but also has a new version of Arcade.

Dutch Winners
Arcade is the fifth Dutch Eurovision winner.
50 years ago Lenny Kuhr did it with De Troubadour, but she had to share the winners reprise with three others.
The Netherlands also won in 1957 (Corry Brokken - Net Als Toen) and 1959 (Teddy Scholten - 'n Beetje) and was the first country to have two victories, but that was 60 years ago.
The most recent Dutch winner was Teach In in 1975. Their Ding-A-Dong was a decent European hit.

Duncan Laurence had a few moments in the 2014 season of The Voice Of Holland where he reached the semi finals. He was coached by Ilse de lange of Common Linnets fame.

Even though none of the Dutch charts is very reliable any longer, (The top 40 is affiliated with just one radio station now and doesn't include sales) it's remarkable that Duncan Laurence's Arcade is the first Dutch entry ever to reach the top spot in the Dutch Top 40.
2021 sees a return to the charts in many countries thanks to a Tik Tok thing (ask the kids) and also making chart debuts in Canada, New Zealand and the U.S..
UPDATE So Duncan did it! Arcade is the 11th Eurovision song by an original artist to reach the USA Billboard Hot 100.  After seven weeks in the bubbling under chart (reaching #1)

The 11 12 Eurovision entries that reached the Billboard Hot 100 (USA)
1958 ITALY - Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blu (Volare) - Domenico Modugno (#1-16 weeks)
- The first US Eurovision hit entered the charts in August, reached #1 and stayed there for 5 weeks. In the top 100 of the 20th Century, published in 1999 it was the #89 best selling single.
1959 ITALY - Piove (Ciao Ciao Bambina) - Domenico Modugno (#97-1 week)
- A suprisingly minor success for Modugno’s follow up. It was his last US hit.
1963 U.K. - Say Wonderful Things - Ronnie Carroll (91-4)
- His only U.S. hit.
1968 U.K. - Congratulations - Cliff Richard (99-3)
- The USA was late with Cliff hits, Congratulations was only his 5th US hit while he had loads of #1’s all over the rest of the world. He did better in the 70’s with top 10 hits like We Don’t Talk Anymore and Devil Woman. 1973 entry Power To All Our Friends made it to #109.
1970 U.K. - Knock Knock Who’s There - Mary Hopkin (92-4)
- Mary’s 4th out of 6 U.S. top 100 Hits. Her debut, Those Were The Days was a #2 hit.
1972 U.K. - The New Seekers - Beg, Steal or Borrow (81-4)
- A moderate succes for their fifth US hit, following a #7 with I’d Like To Teach The World To Sing. 4 more hits followed.
1973 SPAIN - Touch The Wind (Eres Tu) - Mocedades (9-17)
1974 SWEDEN - Waterloo - ABBA (6-17)
- ABBA’s first top 10 hit in the U.S.. They scored 20 top 100 hits but only 4 managed to get to the top 10.
1976 U.K. - Save Your Kisses For Me - Brotherhood Of Man (27-11)
- B.O.M. Mark I already had had three top 100 hits in the early 70’s. This was the only one for B.O.M. mark II. Worldwide it is (reportedly) the best selling Eurovision winner.
1996 U.K. - Ooh, Aah, Just A Little Bit - Gina G. (12-30)
-20 years after the Brotherhood the U.K. scored their 6th  US Eurovision hit which spent 30 weeks on the charts. Gina G. scored another hit (#46) with Gimme Some Love.
2019 NETHERLANDS - Arcade - Duncan Laurence (30-24)
Charting in 2021, just over two years after the original release. #82 in the Billboard top 100 of 2021.
2022 ARMENIA - Snap - Rosa Linn (71-15)
The miracle of Eurovision 2022, Armenia's entry only ended 20th but here she is entering the USA Hot 100 after just 2 weeks in the Bubbling Under charts.
